Público
I wrote regularly on design for Público – Portugal’s most respected newspaper – for both its weekly culture supplement, Ípsilon, and also for P2, its daily culture and leisure supplement.
As such, Público was, during the just over 1-year period I wrote for it, Portugal’s sole newspaper (and one of the few in the world) to have a designer writing on design in its team of collaborators – an area largely overlooked in the general press, especially regarding dedicated criticism.
One of my achievements during this collaboration was a large series of profiles on Portuguese designers (from a 65-year old ‘old school’ poster designer to recently graduated mavericks). I however wrote other pieces, such as a design review on Jacques Tati’s “Mon Oncle”, conference and exhibition reviews and interviews with designers.
