Playtime

Last Wednesday I went up Park Avenue with Ada Louise Huxtable’s guide in hand. All this is pure Jacques Tati. You could think you are inside Playtime, the movie, if it  weren’t for the Tibet and Falun Gong protesters, the police barricades, the absence of pedestrian crossing lights.
When I grow up I want to have dinner at the Four Seasons, Phillip Johnson’s answer to Tati’s “boogie restaurant” in the Seagram Building.

More pics after the jump.
